To use the authoring environment, a user writes a genuine HTML 3.0 source
file, using <MATH>, </MATH>, tags to
delimit equations. The enviroment then
Each time the file is previewed, the authoring enviroment writes out
an .html file with the necessary applet tags
for viewing the document with a Java capable browser.
In this way, an author can write a source file for the HTML 3.0 capable browser of our dreams, and simultaneously generate an acceptable document viewable today with Netscape.
